The National Digital Health Mission, also known as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), is an Indian governance attempt to establish a streamlined internet system for the rapid transfer of health and medical data. The mission to develop India's healthcare system started on September 27, 2021.
The ADBM consists of four major building blocks: a unique health ID, a registry for healthcare practitioners, a registry for healthcare facilities, and the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) mobile app. With this structure in effect, the National Digital Health Mission hopes to improve data flow among patients and physicians.
A 14-digit unique number that ensures a robust and widely accepted identification across India's healthcare environment, allowing for smooth access to health records across providers. It integrates medical coverage and helps to eliminate registration obstacles, giving individuals better access to their health records.
Improve accessibility by linking patients to verified doctors and different health facilities throughout India. The HPR serves as a certified database, ensuring registered healthcare providers for modern and traditional medicine networks, whereas the HFR contains an inventory of diverse medical facilities (both private and public), facilitating access to hospitals, clinics, labs, and pharmacies throughout the healthcare system.
Providing continuous collaboration among stakeholders and making distinct health services accessible through numerous platforms, similar to UPI in payments.
Hospitals will only receive benefits for sales that exceed the base level of transactions.
To be eligible for the incentive, healthcare facilities (hospitals) must conduct at least 50 transactions per bed every month. To be eligible for this reward programme, laboratory/diagnostics payments must surpass $500 per month. To verify your eligibility, go to https://abdm.gov.in/DHIS
Although digital health services in our nation are expanding at an incredible rate, their adoption is mostly restricted to Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. With DHIS, the authorities hopes to entice healthcare providers to support this transformation and increase digital health transactions in the entire nation.
